Full limbs for clay baby by artist C Parry

 

Step 1.

You now need the limbs for your babies head full limbs are great for summer clothes.

Babies legs

You can make your own forms made from foil just like the photo above. You can attchive this by building up layers of the foil and where the fatter parts of babies legs place more foil.

Lenght of legs depends on the size of doll you are creating theses above are about 18 cm long for a 17 inch baby.

 

Below photos are builing the clay on the legs.

Above photo is for the toes.

Using your tools shape the toes and dont forget to shape under the foot and between the toes.

Shape under the foot and place detailed lines.

Once you are happy, just before baking your limbs make sure you have a tie line around the top off the leg for the cloth body then smooth your limbs.

Lenght of arms depends on the size of doll you are creating theses above are about 16-17 cm long for a 17 inch baby.

Now we can add the clay..

Start to shape the fingers then add some clay like the photo below.

Dont forget to place tie lines so you have fix them onto the cloth body when they are baked and painting.
